SVN served me well, but I think it's to to move to a more modern version control system. I chose bzr since it's well integrated with launchpad and it makes it easy to do daily builds in the daily ppa and is quite simple to use.

Blueman sources now can be found here: https://code.launchpad.net/blueman

To do a checkout simply run:
bzr branch lp:blueman

This is mostly a bugfix release, with a few new features:

Fixes:

  • Fixed a python assertion abort on fedora.
  • Improved handlng of file transfers with obex-data-server
  • Some performance optimizations

New features:

  • Added support for moving running PulseAudio streams to newly connected bluetooth audio devices. For seamless bluetooth audio experience :) 
  • Exposed plugin configuration in the front end.

Daily builds PPA is now available here: https://launchpad.net/~blueman/+archive/blueman-dailies

This PPA will contain latest SVN trunk snapshots. Users might want to use daily builds ppa in conjunction with the normal blueman ppa for BlueZ updates.

It's been half a year since Blueman 1.10 was released, and now here comes blueman 1.20 with many improvements and new features. I'll try to release more often this time :)
Release highlights:
  • Proper integration with NetworkManager 0.8 and ModemManager for DUN and PAN connections. Provided via NMDUNSupport and NMPANSupport plugins.
    Screencast, and another.
  • NetUsage plugin
    Allows you to monitor your transferred data while tethering and estimate the costs.
  • Integrated DUN and PAN support.
    For users that do not run NetworkManager. Support is pretty basic though. Provided via PPPSupport and DhcpClient plugins.
  • Improved RF Kill support
    Uses the updated rfkill api from Kernel 2.6.31 for smoother bluetooth power management.
  • Updated PulseAudio Support
    Blueman now supports both a2dp Source and a2dp Sink services. This means you can now both transmit audio and receive audio and play it over the speakers, from eg. a cell phone.
    The source support is currently rough around the edges and is disabled by default in bluez.
  • Updated UI
    Improved device menus in blueman-manager, applet icon shows an indication when bluetooth is connected and number of connections in the tooltip with the help of Indicator plugin.
  • PolicyKit-1 support
Release Notes:
Blueman now depends on policykit-1 (>= 0.92), if it's not supported by the system blueman should be built with --disable-polkit configure option.
Hal functionality is disabled by default now. If you're running an older distribution with NetworkManager <= 0.7.1, blueman should be built with --enable-hal.
Pulseaudio plugin now requires PulseAudio >= 0.9.15.

Release notes:

  • Removed gconf dependency, now if gconf is not available, plain files will be used.
  • Many bug fixes
  • Cool fading effects :)
  • Some GUI improvements
  • Made blueman-sendto backwards compatible with bluetooth-sendto.
    ln -s /usr/bin/blueman-sendto /usr/bin/bluetooth-sendto will bring back the ability to send files using nautilus-sendto.
